Food life is limited mainly by two characteristics, oxidation and bacterial growth, the functionality is based on improved oxygen barrier properties, preservative properties and odor absorbers.
How many resources do we use to produce food? When talking about sustainability, the greatest savings we can achieve is not throwing away the food we have bought, that is, the raw materials, the water, the energy that has been needed to produce a kilo of food and then to end up in the trash. That makes no sense and is one of the challenges that the packaging industry wants to solve with functional packaging.
